On Monday, Everton FC announced on X (previously Twitter) that everyone at the club was “heartbroken” by the news.

In this unimaginably sad moment, the thoughts and condolences of everyone associated with Everton are with his family, friends, and teammates, the club said.

The stadium is presently under construction and is scheduled to be completed in time for the 2025-26 season.

When completed, the stadium, which is estimated to cost around £500 million to construct, will accommodate nearly 53,000 spectators.

It shall be called Everton Stadium.
