Saturday at 12:05 a.m., police were dispatched to the center of Ormskirk, Lancashire, in response to a “continuing disturbance.” A second 19-year-old was treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds at a hospital.
The family of a teenager who was stabbed to death eulogized him as a “compassionate, loving, and humorous young man” with a “bright future ahead of him.”
Matthew Daulby, 19 years old, from Liverpool, perished in hospital after an “altercation” in the town center of Ormskirk, Lancashire.
The police have initiated a homicide investigation.
Saturday at 12:05 a.m., police were alerted to a “continuing disturbance” on Railway Road, where they discovered Matthew nearby. A second 19-year-old was treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds at a hospital.
His family stated, “Matthew was the kindest, funniest, and most loving young man with a promising future.”
“He cherished his family and showed them the utmost devotion. And he enjoyed spending time with them and was so effusive with his affection that he made sure everyone knew how much he cared for them.
“He had a passion for life and eagerly anticipated spending holidays with his family and friends. We will mourn him forever because he was surrounded by love from his family.”
A post-mortem examination will be conducted “in due course” to determine the cause of Matthew’s death, according to Lancashire Constabulary.
A 19-year-old man from Liverpool and a 19-year-old man from Melling, both in Merseyside, have been apprehended and remain in police custody on suspicion of assault.
Detectives attempting to identify several individuals
Several males were involved in an altercation on Railway Road, according to the police.
Police are asking for help from anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or cell phone footage.
Despite the earlier altercation in Railway Road, Detective Chief Inspector Andy Fallows of the force’s major investigation team stated that it was being regarded as an “isolated incident.”
He stated, “This incident has resulted in the death of a young man, and my thoughts are with Matthew’s family and friends at this time.”
