Residents have been evacuated to a nearby recreation center for their safety as more than 100 firefighters battle the blaze.
Several homes have been evacuated in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, as firefighters battle a fire at an industrial facility.
The fire began around 3.45 p.m. on Saturday.
A local recreation center has been opened for those who have been instructed to abandon their homes.
Phillip Arnold, 79, told Nottinghamshire Live, “I’ve been here for 50 years and I’ve never seen anything like this.”
“My home is only a few doors away.
They knocked on my door and informed me that we must evacuate.
I’ve been outside for roughly three hours.
The remaining residents have been instructed to keep their entrances and windows closed.
A portion of Forest Road, Sandhurst Avenue, Bessemer Drive, and Nottingham Road are also without electricity because the fire department had to turn off the power while battling the blaze.
There have been no injuries reported.
Chief Inspector Amy Styles-Jones of the Nottinghamshire Police stated, “This incident is likely to continue for a while, so please avoid the area if possible.”
