A university student was stabbed to death in a hospital despite police efforts to save him.
Wednesday evening in Manchester, a 19-year-old student was fatally stabbed.
The man was murdered early Wednesday morning in the trendy student neighborhood of Fallowfield.
Greater Manchester Police officers administered CPR, however, he eventually died in the hospital.
The victim has not been identified, but his relatives have been notified and are receiving assistance from cops.
Detective Superintendent Neil Jones stated that officers are “working around the clock” to determine what occurred and apprehend the perpetrator.
“This was a horrific crime that took the life of a young man, and my sympathies are with his family at this tragic time,” he continued.
We are aggressively exploring leads and will pursue the perpetrator mercilessly until they are brought to justice.
Additional cops are dispatched to conduct patrols.
Since the stabbing, more officers have been dispatched to areas frequented by students.
The additional personnel will be dispatched to Fallowfield and its environs on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday evenings.
Det. Supt. Jones hopes that the patrols will assist in “collect intelligence and comfort the neighborhood.”
