People attending Manchester Pride have been warned about the sale of a substance mislabeled as MDMA.
The city council stated that testing revealed the drug “contained an unobserved substance” in the region.
Numerous samples of BMDP, also known as cathinone benzylone, were reportedly discovered. It was characterized as “concerning” by a council spokesperson.
“We urge anyone who feels ill while celebrating to seek medical attention immediately,” he added.
The annual event in the heart of Manchester, which began on Friday and continues through Monday, is attended by thousands of people.
This year’s event commemorates 10 years since same-sex marriage became lawful in England and Wales.
