An inquest in Surrey revealed that the headmistress of Epsom College and her daughter perished of shotgun wounds at a residence on the school grounds.

On February 5th, 45-year-old Emma Pattison and her daughter Lettie, age 7, were discovered deceased.

George Pattison, Ms. Pattison’s husband, may have shot them in their home before committing suicide.

Ms. Pattison was shot in the abdomen and chest, and Lettie died from a shotgun wound to the head, according to the judge.

Surrey Coroner’s Court heard Ms. Pattison, who was originally from Lincolnshire, died of shock, hemorrhage, and shotgun wounds.

Dr. Ashley Fegan-Earle, who also conducted toxicology and histology tests at East Surrey hospital, performed postmortem examinations three days after the incident, according to the hearing.

Earlier this week, a separate inquest for George Pattison determined that he perished from a shotgun wound to the head.

His hearing was informed that toxicology and histology reports had been conducted. And the 39-year-old chartered accountant had been identified by his dental records.

The family was discovered dead in their Surrey residence on the grounds of the private school after Ms. Pattison called her sister in distress.

Police have previously reported that a firearm legally registered to Mr. Pattison was discovered at the crime site.

“Pride and pleasure”

In a statement released after her death, Ms. Pattison’s family described her as “everything one could aspire for in a daughter, sister, mother, wife, friend, teacher, and so much more.”

“Our family is exceptionally close, and Emma and Lettie placed family at the center of their universe.

“Lettie was Emma’s pride and delight. A cute, vivacious little girl with a compelling curiosity, a heart-melting smile, and an intelligence beyond her years.

“The two of them were inseparable, and we take solace in the fact that they will remain so.”

The pre-inquest evaluations for all three are scheduled for June 27.
