As firefighters battle the fire in the city’s Craigmount Brae, nearby residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
A school has been evacuated and residents have been warned to keep their windows and doors closed as firefighters battle a fire in an Edinburgh apartment block.
Wednesday, around 3:00 p.m., the alarm was activated.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched ten engines and specialized resources to the scene at Craigmount Brae.
As a precaution, the nearby East Craigs Primary School has been evacuated.
A fire service spokesperson stated, “At 3.08 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, we were notified of an incident in an Edinburgh apartment block.
“Operations control dispatched ten fire engines and specialized resources to the city’s Craigmount Brae. Where firefighters are currently extinguishing a fire in the roof space of a building.”

The force tweeted, “Officers are assisting with traffic management due to a fire at a residence on Craigmount Brae in Edinburgh.”
“A nearby school was evacuated as a precaution. People should avoid the area, and residents should keep their windows and doors shut.”
