A man was arrested after a woman was killed in an accident early on Christmas morning.
At approximately 03:45 GMT, Met police officers in a marked car signaled for a motorist to halt on Hendon Way in Edgware, north London.
The vehicle fled, and the cops did not pursue it. The car then collided with another automobile and struck a lamppost.
The 22-year-old passenger in the second vehicle succumbed to her injuries and died.
The male driver of the second vehicle sustained a non-serious head injury.
The occupants of the vehicle that did not stop for officers, according to the police, fled the area on foot.
Subsequently, a 29-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of causing death by reckless driving and remains detained.
The force stated that road closures have been implemented and efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining occupants of the vehicle.
The police request that anyone with knowledge or dashcam footage contact them.
