The incident in Northolt, west London, comes amid fears over dog attacks following the deaths of Natasha Johnston in Caterham, Surrey, and a four-year-old girl in a Milton Keynes backyard.
A woman recalled “screaming” in pain after a dog attacked her in west London by grabbing her arm and shaking her “like a rag doll.”
The 74-year-old woman expressed concern that the dog had severed her hand from her arm.
When the woman’s car collided with another vehicle in Northolt, both parties exited their vehicles to check the damage.
She stated that a giant dog then “appears out of nowhere” and leaps at her, placing its paws on each of her shoulders.
74-year-old dog attack victim screams in anguish
The woman, who requested anonymity, told, “I must have instinctively pushed it away, because the next thing I know, I’m on the ground being shaken like a doll and screaming for my life.”
“The dog grabbed my right arm as I was on the ground and shaking like a rag doll while telling someone please help me’ at the top of my lungs.”
Concerns have been raised concerning dog attacks following the deaths of Natasha Johnston in Caterham, Surrey, and a four-year-old girl in a back garden in Milton Keynes.
Online video of the attack in Northolt on January 26 showed what appeared to be a pit bull clutching onto the woman’s arm as two men struggled to free her.
The woman stated that two males from the other vehicle were “kicking and battling the dog and doing all they could to get it off of me.”
“At one point, the older man had both of the dog’s ears, and the dog was growling and staring me in the face, while I continued to scream,” she claimed.
The woman stated that the dog ultimately let go of her arm, allowing her to escape to the passenger seat of her vehicle.
I felt like I was staring at ground beef.
The woman continued, “When I jumped into my car, all I remember seeing was meat everywhere.” In addition, my arm was dangling. There was human flesh on my coat, on my lap, and in my vehicle.
“When I stared at my arm, I felt as though I was observing ground flesh. Clearly, the dog had been chewing, biting, and gnawing the bone there.
“At the time, I did not feel pain, but I was wailing in agony later. I merely imagined leaving my hand on the ground. The way he was tugging me, I didn’t believe I’d be able to keep my grasp on my arm.”
The emergency medical services arrive and transport the woman to the hospital.
She said, “It was the worst time of my life.” “I feared I would never see my children again. It’s simply dreadful.”
The attack fractured both of the woman’s forearm bones. She has undergone three surgeries thus far and says she will require several more.
Officers searching for a dog owner
The Metropolitan Police stated that officers were summoned at 10:54 p.m. on January 26 after the dog assaulted a woman.
A police official stated, “Two automobiles had collided. While individuals engaged were exchanging information, one woman was attacked by a dog, suffering an arm injury.
“Others began attempting to assist her. They were not the owners of the dog.
“Another member of the public stopped her car and opened the door after observing the incident. She brought the dog to a gas station off Yeading Lane, where it bit her arm.
“The police arrived and seized the dog. It was transferred to a police station, where efforts are ongoing to trace the owner.
The injuries sustained by the two women are not life-threatening.
