Family, faith leaders, councillors, police, and community members gathered to commemorate Elianne Andam, the 15-year-old victim of a fatal stabbing in Croydon.
Approximately 350 people attended Elianne Andam’s memorial service in The Queen’s Gardens park on Sunday.
Elianne, who tragically lost her life on September 27 when she was stabbed at a bus stop, was described by Dr. Rosemarie Mallett, the Bishop of Croydon, as an “amazing young person” with strong faith.

Dr. Mallett emphasized the importance of not remembering Elianne solely as a statistic reflecting the challenges faced by the community.
On Friday, a 17-year-old youth, whose identity cannot be disclosed due to his age, was charged with Elianne’s murder. His court date at the Old Bailey is set for Tuesday.
The memorial service, featuring speeches and music, also paid tribute to Bradley Hutchins, aged 20, who was fatally stabbed in New Addington, Croydon, on September 12th.
Two people were charged with his murder, attempted murder of a 19-year-old man, and possession of sharp and bladed objects.
