By-Elections Following Resignations

Whoever succeeds Nadine Dorries in Mid Bedfordshire and Chris Pincher in Tamworth, following their resignations as Conservative MPs, will be determined in the by-elections.

ID Requirement for Voters

For the by-elections, voters in both constituencies will be required to present photo identification.

Candidate Count

The by-election in Mid Bedfordshire was instigated subsequent to Ms. Dorries’s resignation in August.

The former culture secretary won a constituency that the Tories have held since 1931 with a 24,664-vote majority in 2019.

The Tamworth by-election was held in September, subsequent to the resignation of Chris Pincher.

In 2019, the seat was won by the former Conservative deputy whip with an overwhelming majority of over 19,000.

In Tamworth, there are nine candidates on the ballot, compared to thirteen in Mid Bedfordshire.
