A Miraculous Escape
A bullock that was the subject of a video circulating on social media platforms, depicting its removal from a sinkhole by its rear legs, escaped unscathed and has not exhibited any enduring symptoms of shock or trauma.
Superintendent’s Perspective
A miraculous recovery has been achieved by a bullock whose rescue from a fissure by its hind legs went viral; however, his owner maintains that he will not change his name to Lucky.
When the animal was rescued, Witton Castle Country Park superintendent Thomas Hague called it “absolutely magnificent.”

“He is at his peak of excellence,” he declared.
The Dramatic Rescue Operation
According to Mr. Hague, the prompt rescue of the bullock from a 10-foot-deep fissure on the County Durham estate was necessary after he became trapped there a month ago.
“A couple of straps and a telehandler” were used to free him.
“It was just a case of getting him out quickly… we used what we could,” Mr. Hague explained.
Post-Rescue Examination
Mr. Hague stated that following the bullock’s discharge, he underwent a “good checkup,” and it was immediately apparent that he had no muscular or skeletal issues to be concerned about.
“We knew he was okay and just kept an eye on him really.”
“The worry was the shock of it for him; we were a bit concerned… but he’s been absolutely fine and calm.”
The Unchanged Name
The bullock may have spent the entire night in the sinkhole; there was no sinkhole when the animals were examined that evening, and one of them had vanished into the ground by morning.
“We didn’t think he had been down there too long because he was calm enough,” Mr. Hague commented.
He further stated that the bullock appeared to have descended progressively, as opposed to completely submerging at once.
“I think he was cushioned going down, which was quite lucky,” according to him.
Due to his social media fame, some people have recommended naming the bovine Lucky, but no decision has been made.
His current state is that of an ordinary bovine in the field.
Mr. Hague stated, “You wouldn’t even know which one he was at this moment.
