Police have stated that a collision on the M40 highway has resulted in two fatalities and 12 injuries, two of which are serious.
Today around 8:15 am, Thames Valley Police were called to the scene of an incident. The next of kin of the two deceased victims have been notified.
A woman in her sixties and a man in his seventies perished at the scene of the accident. Which occurred southbound between junctions 5 and 4 on the Buckinghamshire motorway.
At approximately 8:15 a.m. today, Thames Valley Police officers responded to a report of a crash involving many automobiles.
“Sadly, two individuals have died. Their family has been notified.”
Two more persons have been transported to the hospital with serious injuries. While ten more have been treated for minor injuries.
The Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit’s Detective Chief Inspector Mike Bettington stated. “Our sympathies are with the families and friends of the two victims.”
He stated that the police are requesting anyone who may have observed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact them.
Following the incident, the southbound and northbound lanes of the road were closed and police advised motorists to take another route.
The southbound lane remains closed, but the northbound lane reopened at approximately 11:20 a.m.
