A child’s body was discovered during a search of a Birmingham backyard.
West Midlands Police announced this week that police were inspecting the garden of a home on Clarence Road in Handsworth after receiving information indicating a death occurred there in 2020.
On 9 December, a 40-year-old male and a 41-year-old woman were detained on suspicion of causing or enabling the death of a child and willful neglect, respectively.
Each has been accused of neglect.
They have been placed under arrest.
The police added that post-mortem examinations on the body would be conducted.
The police stated that the present occupants of the house were unrelated to the investigation.
