A murder investigation is underway following the stabbing death of a 23-year-old man on the dance floor of a Birmingham nightclub.
On December 26, just before 23:45 GMT, a man sustained fatal injuries at The Crane on Adderley Street in Digbeth.
West Midlands Police stated that despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead approximately 30 minutes later.
Det. Insp. Michelle Thurgood stated, “This was a young man having a wonderful time with pals on Boxing Day night.”
The incident occurred at 15:00 GMT on Boxing Day, during an event featuring renowned techno DJ Marco Carola.
Before the man was attacked, police believe he was approached by a group, and they are requesting anyone in the club to contact them.
Ms. Thurgood said, “We know there were hundreds of individuals in the nightclub at the time.”
While we have already spoken with several people, we still need to hear from anyone who was present and who observed or possibly filmed the incident.
There have been no arrests, but the crime site remains closed as officers collect evidence and check CCTV footage.
In the following days, neighborhood cops will monitor the area to provide reassurance, police said.
