A 22-year-old man has been charged for heckling Prince Andrew during yesterday’s Royal Mile procession.

Police Scotland arrested him on suspicion of disturbing the peace.

A statement said, “He was freed with the promise to appear at a later date at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, and a report will be issued to the Procurator Fiscal.”

No other arrests have been made about the incident, and police will not confirm whether or not investigations are ongoing.

During the procession, the coffin of the Queen was transported from the Palace of Holyroodhouse to the cathedral.

The King led on foot the Duke of York, Earl of Wessex, Princess Royal, and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, while the Queen Consort and the Countess of Wessex followed in automobiles.

Her coffin has been resting since yesterday afternoon, and it will depart Scotland for the last time later today as it continues its journey to Buckingham Palace.
