A man with a knife was fatally shot by armed policemen after being spotted in the parking lot of the Derby police station.
The police have stated that the men identify is still unknown following the shooting at 10:03 this morning.
He was shot in the Ascot Drive police station parking lot and later died in the hospital.
Before armed cops were dispatched, the suspect was spotted on-site by police.
Officers performed first aid at the scene until the arrival of paramedics.
The individual was transported by ambulance to the hospital but pronounced dead upon arrival.
Derbyshire Constabulary stated that attempts are ongoing to identify the man.
During the incident, no cops, staff, or members of the general public were wounded.
The force issued a statement stating: “At 9:55 a.m. on October 7, officers reported sighting a knife-wielding guy in the secure parking lot of the Ascot Drive Police Station, located off Ascot Drive in Derby.
“At 10:03 a.m., after sending armed policemen to the scene, a police pistol was fired.
The unidentified male got a gunshot wound and the East Midlands Ambulance Service was summoned to respond.
According to police, a cordon has been established and Ascot Drive has been closed.
The shooting has been reported to the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC).
