Three hikers were discovered deceased in Glencoe after failing to return from their excursion.
Saturday night, shortly before 9:00 p.m., the Aonach Eagach Ridge was evacuated after three individuals were reported missing.
Eventually, their corpses were discovered during a search.
Police Scotland, Her Majesty’s Coastguard, the Royal Air Force, and the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team participated in the recovery operation.
Aonach Eagach is reportedly one of the narrowest ridges on the British mainland and traversing it necessitates scrambling skills.
The six-mile stretch of rugged terrain features two Munro summits, Sgorr nam Fiannaidh at 3,175 feet and Meall Dearg at 3,124 feet.
According to Police Scotland, the fatalities do not appear suspicious.
A spokesperson for the force stated, “We were made aware of concerns for three hillwalkers who had not returned from the Aonach Eagach ridge in Glencoe by 9:05 p.m. on Saturday, August 5.”
“Three corpses were discovered after an investigation was conducted. The recovery operation was assisted by HM Coastguard, Glencoe, and RAF mountain rescue teams.
“It does not appear that any suspect circumstances exist. A report will be submitted to the Public Prosecutor.”
