Since Pakistan has been experiencing economic difficulties for months, food, oil, and gas prices have increased.

The concerns were at the center of the political conflict between Imran Khan, who was removed as prime minister in April, and Shahbaz Sharif, his successor who led the opposition’s effort to depose Mr. Khan.

Since his departure, Mr. Khan has spearheaded protests around the nation against the new authorities.

According to Reuters, the country’s foreign currency reserves have plummeted from $16.3bn at the end of February to $10bn in May.
