State Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik declared on Monday that Russia will give Pakistan subsidized crude oil, gasoline, and diesel.

The move comes a month after Finance Minister Ishaq Dar stated that the nation is investigating acquiring discounted Russian oil, noting that Pakistan’s neighbor India has been getting oil from Moscow and that Islamabad has the right to investigate the prospect.
Consequently, Malik traveled to Russia last week to discuss oil and gas supply difficulties.

As winter approaches, Pakistan struggles to meet domestic gas demand while trying to contain a current account deficit inflated by energy purchases, primarily for oil.
