Diplomatic relations between Iran and Pakistan have been re-established, according to the office of interim Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
This development follows an exchange of missile and drone attacks by both nations against militant bases located on the territory of the other.
The withdrawal of ambassadors from the capitals of Iran and Pakistan was a direct consequence of the reciprocal attacks.
As a result of the discussions, both ambassadors are anticipated to return to their respective posts.
Iran claimed that nine individuals, including four children, were killed in strikes that occurred in a border village on its territory on Thursday. Pakistan stated that two minors were killed on Tuesday by an Iranian attack.
Iran has not issued an initial statement regarding the negotiations.
Pakistan declared its readiness to collaborate with Iran on “all matters” earlier on Friday, in response to a telephone conversation between their foreign ministers.

The Pakistani foreign ministry stated, “Foreign Minister Jilani expressed Pakistan’s readiness to collaborate with Iran on all issues in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.”
“In addition, they reached a consensus to reduce the intensity of the situation.” Additionally, the return of the two countries’ ambassadors to their respective capitals was deliberated.
Amidst a confluence of crises that have heightened tensions in the Middle East, the two sides launched missile exchanges.

In the interim, Iranian-backed groups in Syria and Iraq are targeting American forces, and the United States and the United Kingdom have struck the Houthis of Yemen, who have been attacking shipping.
The Pakistani foreign ministry announced on Thursday that its airstrikes against the Iranian city of Saravan were prompted by “credible intelligence of imminent large-scale terrorist activities.”
The ministry added that Iran’s “sovereignty and territorial integrity” are “completely respected.”
The Pakistan Army stated that drones, rockets, and long-range missiles were used in the “precision strikes.” These strikes targeted the Balochistan Liberation Front and the Balochistan Liberation Army.
A decade-long struggle for greater autonomy has been waged by both factions in Balochistan, an isolated region in southwestern Pakistan.
