Imran Ahmad Khan, a former Wakefield representative, has lost his appeal against his conviction for sexual assault.
Khan, who served as Wakefield’s Conservative representative from 2019 until his retirement in April, was sentenced to 18 months in prison in May for beating a 15-year-old boy at a house in 2008.

He had denied the charge.
Last month, the 49-year-old disputed his conviction before the Court of Appeals.
Judge Michael Sweeney stated on Monday that he had “no question” that Khan’s trial was fair and that his conviction was secure.
