The existence of the daughter of the North Korean leader has never been acknowledged publicly. There are rumors that he has up to three children, two girls, and a boy.

As they inspected an intercontinental ballistic missile before launch, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un unveiled his daughter to the world for the first time.

The existence of Mr. Kim’s daughter has never been acknowledged publicly till she was spotted holding hands with her father.

The state news agency KCNA did not identify the girl, but experts believe she is Ju Ae, who is between 12 and 13 years old.

According to South Korean and Japanese officials, the photograph was taken before the missile was launched on Friday and landed 200 kilometers (124 miles) off the coast of Japan.

Mr. Kim may have up to three children, including two girls and a boy.

Michael Madden, a specialist on North Korean leadership at the Stimson Center in the United States, stated, “This is the first time we have seen Kim Jong Un’s daughter at a public gathering.

It is incredibly significant and indicative of Kim Jong Un’s level of comfort that he would bring her out in public in this manner.

Regarding Ju Ae’s anticipated age, Mr. Madden stated, “This would indicate that she will be schooled and trained for a leadership position; this may be prepared for her to assume the primary leader’s post, or she could become an advisor and behind-the-scenes figure like her aunt.”

In 2013, retired American basketball player Dennis Rodman stated that Mr. Kim possessed a “young” daughter named Ju Ae.

According to KCNA, Mr. Kim’s wife Ri Sol Ju also attended the launch on Friday.

North Korea has never indicated who might succeed Mr. Kim in the case of his incapacitation, and his young children are largely unknown.

Analysts have hypothesized that his sister and loyalists could form a regency until his heir comes of age.

North Korea started testing intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) for the first time since 2017 before Friday’s launch, making 2018 a record-breaking year for its missile development.

ICBMs are North Korea’s longest-range weapon and are meant to deliver a nuclear warhead to any site within the United States continental territory.
