- Hezbollah ready for Israeli ground invasion
- Qassem condemns Israel’s civilian-targeted strikes
- U.S. accused of supporting Israel militarily
Hezbollah’s deputy leader, Sheikh Naim Qassem, vowed that the Lebanese armed group is fully prepared to confront an Israeli ground invasion, even after the death of its leader Hassan Nasrallah and several senior commanders.
In a public address on Monday, Qassem asserted that Israel had not damaged Hezbollah’s military capabilities despite the recent bombardment of Lebanon. He emphasized that the Iran-backed group would continue its fight unabated.
Qassem noted that Hezbollah’s operations have not slowed since Nasrallah’s assassination on Friday, stating that a new leadership would soon be appointed through internal mechanisms. He did not offer further specifics on who might take over but indicated that the process was clear.

“We are ready for a ground incursion if the Israelis want one; our resistance forces are prepared,” Qassem declared. He reaffirmed Hezbollah’s commitment to its primary objectives, accusing Israel of attempting to create chaos by targeting civilians and committing massacres across Lebanon.
“Israel is massacring civilians, attacking ambulances, and killing children and the elderly,” Qassem said. He alleged that Israel’s attacks do not target fighters but are instead aimed at terrorizing Lebanon’s civilian population. He also condemned the U.S., accusing it of being a partner in Israel’s actions through “unlimited military, cultural, political, and financial support.”
Qassem concluded his message with a pledge of victory, drawing parallels to Hezbollah’s perceived triumph in the 2006 conflict with Israel, stating, “We will win, just as we did in 2006.”
