Armed Palestinian fighters may have hit a tank shielding the soldiers with a rocket before the assault.

The IDF is investigating the incident.

Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, the IDF’s senior spokesman, stated that the reservists were killed in central Gaza near the kibbutz of Kissufim on the Israeli side of the border at approximately 16:00 (14:00 GMT) on Monday.

Following the evacuation of tens of thousands of inhabitants of southern Israel in the wake of the Hamas attack on October 7, they participated in an operation that ensured their safe return.

In a wet Jerusalem, the initial funerals for those killed in the explosion were conducted atop Mount Herzl.

Numerous mourners wore military uniforms, and the area was adorned with blue and white Israeli flags.

On Monday, three officers were slain in a separate attack in southern Gaza, as confirmed by the Israeli military.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel declared that his nation would continue its offensive until it achieved “absolute victory,” notwithstanding the hardship it endured.

Three hospitals in the crowded southern city of Khan Younis, which displaced people traverse, have been the site of intense combat elsewhere in Gaza.

The IDF said it has totally surrounded the city, its main target in its ground battle against Hamas.

Israel believes the facility might hide the group’s commanders and hostages.

Dozens of local gunmen were reportedly killed during the operation. IDF forces discovered tunnel shafts containing rockets in rocket launchers, in addition to a significant quantity of weapons and rockets.

Women and children, according to the Palestinians, have been slain in the most recent fighting in the city.

Humanitarian Crisis Unfolds in Gaza

They further stated that since Monday, Israeli blockades and hospital assaults had rendered the wounded and deceased inaccessible to rescuers.

Nasser Hospital buried the deceased because it was too dangerous to get to the cemetery.

Israel raided Al-Khair Hospital in al-Mawasi to the west, detaining staff.

Israel avowed its intention to destroy Hamas before the outbreak of the war, which was precipitated by waves of its gunmen capturing approximately 250 individuals hostage and killing 1,300 others, the majority of whom were civilians.

Since Israel’s ground incursion on October 27, 217 troops have died, according to the IDF website. This brings the total number of casualties since October 7 to 552.

According to Hamas’ health ministry, 25,490 individuals have died in Israel’s Gaza campaign since then. The majority of those murdered have been children and women.
