Israeli security forces have reportedly killed two Palestinian militants accused of murdering a British-Israeli mother and her two daughters last month in the occupied West Bank.

During the raid in the city of Nablus, a third militant who purportedly aided the two were also killed.

Officials in Palestine have verified the deaths of three men.

Lucy Dee, 48, and her children, 15 and 20, were killed in Jordan Valley.

They were driving to a Passover function when gunmen opened fire near Hamra, 16 kilometres (10 miles) west of Nablus.

The car crashed, and the assailants opened fire from close range once more.

Rina and Maia perished at the scene, while Lucy succumbed to her injuries three days later in the hospital.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) stated that during Thursday’s raid in Nablus, security forces targeted an apartment in the old city where the “murderers of Leah [Lucy’s Hebrew name], Maia and Rina Dee” were sheltering.

They were identified as Hassan Katnani and Maed Masri, and it was stated that they were Hamas militants.

The IDF said a gunfight killed the two guys and Ibrahim Hura, a top Hamas operative. It was also reported that three assault rifles were discovered in the flat.

The Palestinian health ministry confirmed three Palestinian deaths but was unable to identify two owing to their severe wounds.

Lucy’s husband, Rabbi Leo Dee, stated in a statement that he and their three surviving children were “comforted to hear that Israeli security forces have eliminated the Iranian-funded terrorists responsible for the murders of Lucy, Maia, and Rina.”

He added, “This has been accomplished without endangering the lives of Israeli soldiers or innocent Palestinian civilians.”

On Twitter, Israel’s Minister of Defence Yoav Gallant wrote, “Just as I promised Leo Dee, Israel’s defense establishment will reach any terrorist who harms our citizens.”

According to the Wafa news agency, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammed Shtayyeh condemned the deadly raid in Nablus and held the Israeli government responsible for “these crimes against Palestinian people.”

It arrives at a time when tensions between Israel and the Palestinians are escalating.

The center of Nablus has become a stronghold for the militant group Lion’s Den. And Israeli forces have conducted frequent raids there in the past year, killing civilians and militants. As a wave of deadly Palestinian attacks against Israelis persisted.
