The protest group Last Generation emphasized that Germany is currently only witnessing the “tip” of the worldwide climate catastrophe.

The tip of the Christmas tree that stood in front of Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate was cut off by climate protestors.

Two members of the protest organization Last Generation reportedly used a hydraulic lift and a hand saw to chop two meters off the 15-meter tree’s top and hang a banner.

The group stated in a statement that it wished to emphasize that Germany is currently witnessing merely the “tip” of the global climate crisis.

Last Generation urged the German government to increase its efforts to combat global warming.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has criticized such protests and urged demonstrators to demonstrate “a little inventiveness.”
