- Iran sends ballistic missiles to Russia
- Russia plans missile use in Ukraine
- Sanctions on Iran expected to increase
During a visit to the UK, Antony Blinken stated that Moscow had received the missiles and had educated Russian military troops on how to use them in Iran.
Iran has transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia, and the Kremlin is expected to use them in Ukraine within weeks, according to the US secretary of state.
During a visit to the United Kingdom, Antony Blinken stated that the development was “a threat to all of Europe.” He demonstrated Iran’s “destabilizing influence reaches far beyond the Middle East.”
He told a news conference that dozens of Russian military personnel had been trained in Iran to handle the Fath-360 close-range ballistic missile system, which has a maximum range of 75 miles.
Russia has recently received shipments of these ballistic missiles, which will most certainly be used against Ukrainians in the following weeks.
Russia possesses its ballistic missiles, but the supply of Iranian missiles allows Russia to focus more of its arsenal on targets further away from the front lines.
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that the sale of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia was “definitely a significant escalation” and that the UK was “coordinating.
When asked if he would approve Ukraine’s use of Storm Shadow long-range missiles to hit targets within Russia, Mr Lammy declined to comment on “operational issues.”
Mr Blinken stated that the US will announce additional sanctions against Iran later on Tuesday, including steps against Iran Air.
He said other countries also anticipated imposing further sanctions.
However, the Ukrainian president’s chief of staff stated that placing sanctions on Iran for supplying Moscow with ballistic missiles was insufficient and that allies should authorize Kyiv to launch strikes deep into Russia with Western weapons.
According to Andriy Yermak, the official on Telegram, we also require permission to employ Western weaponry against military targets on Russian Federation territory, as well as delivery of longer-range missiles and air defence upgrades.
Mr. Lammy and Mr. Blinken announced they will travel to Kyiv later this week in what Mr. Lammy described as the “first joint visit of this kind in well over a decade.”
Mr Blinken stated that Russia and Iran’s relationship was a “two-way street,” with the Kremlin sharing technologies with Iran, including nuclear issues and space information.
So, as Iran’s destabilizing activities spread, does Russia, causing even more instability in their territories and around the world, he stated.
He added that the US has been sharing intelligence on the discovery with allies and partners and “working together to ensure that Tehran’s actions have significant economic consequences.
Nasser Kanani, the spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, criticized the UK, France, and Germany for terminating bilateral air service agreements and punishing Iran Air.

Kanani stated that the three European countries’ actions continue the West’s hostile policy and economic terrorism against the Iranian people and that the Islamic Republic of Iran will respond appropriately and proportionately.
He said, “As previously stated, any claims that Iran has sold ballistic missiles to the Russian Federation are completely baseless and false.”
The United States and these three European countries are the principal sources of armaments for the Zionist state, which is implicated in the wholesale killing of Palestinians and the genocide in Gaza.
They need to be held accountable for their erroneous policies.
