A body has been discovered during the search for Jenny Hastings, the wife of former Scotland rugby international Scott Hastings.

On Saturday afternoon, police reported finding a woman’s body near the Hound Point area of South Queensferry.

Formal identification has yet to occur, however the Hastings family has been notified.

Mrs. Hastings went missing on Tuesday in Wardie Bay, a wild swimming site near Edinburgh.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances, and a report would be forwarded to the procurator fiscal.

Hound Point is a rocky outcrop and marine terminal located around five miles (8 kilometers) west of where Mrs Hastings went missing.

On Tuesday, HM Coastguard received a “report of concern,” and several lifeboats and helicopters were dispatched to assist in the search.

The Hastings family later made a statement stating that she had “struggled with her mental health for several years.

“The Hastings family are heartbroken,” the message said.

Jenny and Scott have a large following of friends from all walks of life, including those in the media, and we ask that at this time, we be allowed to grieve privately with family members.

Scott Hastings, the younger brother of former Scotland rugby captain Gavin, earned 65 caps as a center for Scotland between 1986 and 1997.

Jenny Hastings, 60, had previously spoken frankly about her mental health issues.

She disappeared from the couple’s Edinburgh home for 36 hours in March 2017, walking for miles to the Pentland Hills while depressed.

She eventually sought help by going to a police station and praising the cops for their assistance.

The couple later led a charity initiative to keep people active and boost their mental health.

The 100 Streets Challenge urged individuals to get outside and exercise with their friends.
