According to reports, Buenos Aires police officers discovered the find after the girl’s anxious father phoned them because he had not seen her for months.

The body of a missing five-year-old child was discovered in a cement-filled wooden box that her mother used as a bedside table.

Milagros Nazareth Martin’s body was recovered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, after her concerned father phoned authorities since he had not seen his daughter for months.

According to reports, the girl’s mother, Vanesa Mansilla, has been charged with “culpable homicide.”

According to reports, she initially informed the father that she had placed the child in the care of social services due to the substandard living conditions at her home.

When police arrived at her home to search, she reportedly stated that her daughter had died but that she did not know what to do and was “terrified.”

She reportedly placed the body in a bag, which was then placed in a box filled with cement from a nearby construction site, out of fear that her other two children, ages three and seven, would be removed from her.

An investigator informed Telam, a local news outlet, “She utilized the box with the body inside as a bedside table in her bedroom.”

Milagros died of a respiratory infection due to preexisting conditions that forced her to have a tracheostomy and a nasogastric tube. This was determined through a postmortem examination.

A judicial official stated, “There have been no prior allegations of gender-based violence.”

An investigator informed Telam that the mother had initially disclosed her daughter’s passing to her family.

“She reported that everything transpired one afternoon following the washing of her children,” the investigator stated.

“When she awoke from her siesta, she went to see the girl, but she had already passed away. She reported having a runny nose and saliva in her mouth.”

The emergency search was initiated when these relatives notified the authorities.

The two boys of Milagros are supposedly in the care of their grandma.
