Police and Miami Heat are investigating the allegations, but McGregor’s attorneys say they are false.
Conor McGregor has denied allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman during Saturday’s game four of the NBA Finals.
His attorney, Barbara R. Llanes, issued the following statement: “The allegations are false. Mr. McGregor will not be cowed.”
The Miami Police Department has verified that they are investigating a report received on 11 June, the day after the Kaseya Centre game in Florida.
“At this time, we can only confirm that the Special Victims Unit of the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a report filed on June 11, 2023,” the force said.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no additional information can be provided at this time.
The NBA and Miami Heat have stated that they are investigating the allegations, while the UFC has stated that it is accumulating information and will “allow the legal process to play out” before making any further statements.
The initial allegations were published in the American tabloid TMZ, and the woman’s counsel issued a detailed and graphic description.
The Irish mixed martial arts superstar also participated in a halftime performance during the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat game.
After McGregor, 34, struck a Heat mascot on the court, the mascot reportedly required hospital treatment.
