The president of the United States also addressed the January 6 rioting in his State of the Union address, where he accused Trump and “certain members present in the chamber” of an attempt to “bury the truth.”
As part of one of the most pivotal addresses of his presidency, Joe Biden asserted that democracy and freedom are “under attack” both domestically and internationally.

Mr. Biden immediately shifted his focus to his Republican predecessor and opponent, Donald Trump, denouncing his recent remarks regarding Russia, wherein he threatened to incite Moscow to launch attacks against NATO members who failed to augment their defense expenditures.
The 81-year-old then addressed the attack on the Capitol Building by Trump supporters on January 6, 2021, and accused them of not being “patriots.”
He advocated for the confrontation of the menace to democracy. He asserted that specific individuals in the chamber, including 77-year-old Trump, were attempting to “bury the truth” – an action he vowed to oppose.

Mr. Biden emphasized Alabama social worker Latorya Beasley, stating that she and her spouse greeted a child fourteen months ago “by the miraculous process of in vitro fertilization.”
