According to No. 10, the United Kingdom will send two Royal Navy ships and surveillance aircraft to the eastern Mediterranean “to support Israel.”
The aircraft will focus on patrols for “Terrorist group weapons transfers and other threats to regional stability,” commencing on Friday.
The package includes a company of marines, surveillance assets, helicopters, and P8 aircraft.
Rishi Sunak stated the military support would “prevent further escalation.
Downing Street confirmed that the British armed forces would remain ready to “provide practical support to Israel and its regional partners, as well as offer deterrence and assurance.”
A Royal Navy task force is set to deploy to the region next week to aid humanitarian efforts.

The prime minister stressed the government’s determination to prevent a recurrence of the “horrific scenes” in Israel.
Mr. Sunak added that the military teams in Cyprus, Israel, and the region would assist in contingency planning.
Hamas launched an unprecedented assault against southern Israel on Saturday, resulting in at least 1,300 casualties and the capture of 150 detainees in Gaza.
The number of fatalities in Gaza has surpassed 1,300 since Israel initiated retaliatory airstrikes.
Defence Secretary Grant Shapps stated that the military assistance would “unequivocally demonstrate the United Kingdom’s determination to ensure Hamas’s terrorist campaign fails.”
The Foreign Office has initiated flight arrangements for stranded British nationals in Israel.
The first aircraft will depart from Tel Aviv on Thursday, with additional flights scheduled “in the coming days, subject to security.”
