The Inferno’s Impact: Vehicle Salvage Unlikely
“A massive fire that ravaged one of Luton Airport’s parking lots makes it “unlikely” that any vehicles can be salvaged, according to the airport.
Flights came to a halt on Tuesday evening following the destruction of Terminal Car Park 2 due to a fire.
The fire affected up to 1,500 vehicles, and the airport has received almost 16,500 consumer inquiries since then.
The airport administration has taken over control of the parking lot from the emergency services.
“Unfortunately, it seems improbable that any vehicles in the car park can be saved, but we are still in the process of assessing this,” said an airport spokesperson.
