Cambridge Water states that the outage has affected them, as Microsoft’s service status page displays global issues.

Microsoft’s cloud service experienced another outage just weeks after an IT disaster in its services brought the globe to a halt.

In a post on X, Cambridge Water said some of their services were down this afternoon.

According to the water business, a problem with our website is affecting numerous services, including MyAccount and PayNow, due to global issues with Microsoft Azure.

Microsoft stated that it is looking into claims of user problems, saying, “We are looking into reports of issues connecting to Microsoft services globally.”

The firm later declared that it had issued a fix that appeared to resolve the issue, stating that there was “improvement in service availability” and that it was “continuing to monitor to ensure full recovery.”

However, the service status website continued to report global difficulties.

Users reported thousands of difficulties to DownDetector, a website that monitors IT service faults.

Other sites, such as creative portfolio site Fabrik and medical job portal Thalamus, reported difficulty because their services are hosted on Microsoft Azure.

The event occurred less than two weeks after a colossal IT failure knocked global infrastructure, including transportation and healthcare services, offline due to a faulty software upgrade by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike that affected Microsoft computers.

Following the cancellation of thousands of flights worldwide, the US airline Delta is preparing to seek compensation from CrowdStrike and Microsoft.

Delta has been one of the slowest airlines to recover from the disruption, canceling almost 6,000 flights and leaving hundreds of thousands of passengers stranded.

CrowdStrike’s stock fell more than 8% on Tuesday following the announcement.
