- Bupa launches ‘Netflix-style’ GP subscription for £17/month
- Service offers phone, video, and in-person appointments
- One-third of Brits struggle to book GP visits; satisfaction low
Bupa offers a ‘Netflix-style’ private GP subscription service for £17 per month as satisfaction with family doctors reaches an all-time low.
The private medical insurer developed the concept after a poll revealed that 32% of consumers prefer paid-for access to a GP or dentist over a television subscription service.
The service, which costs £16.99 per month or £200 per year, would allow clients to schedule phone or video sessions with doctors.
Customers can also schedule in-person visits at Bupa’s 54 clinics for £21.66 or £260 annually. Both businesses offer free medication delivery to their homes or a nearby pharmacy.

A study of British social attitudes found that public satisfaction with GP services was only 34% earlier this year.
Censuswide polling for Bupa revealed that one-third of respondents found it challenging to schedule a GP appointment, with 31% waiting more than a week to see a doctor.
Dr Elizabeth Rogers of Bupa Health Clinics stated, ‘Our Netflix-style GP subscription allows customers quick access to same-day appointments with doctors and 24/7 access to our Anytime Healthline.
