Israel killed Turkish-American activist Aysenur. What’s the word?
Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, 26, has died, and her remains have been brought to Turkey to be buried in Didim, her hometown. Last Friday, a Turkish-American activist was assassinated by the Israeli military while protesting illegal Israeli settlements. Israel maintains Aysenur was killed unintentionally at a protest in Beita, near Nablus in the occupied West Bank. Still, new evidence contradicts this, with witnesses claiming Israeli soldiers purposefully killed her.
Iran defies west’s request not to strike Israel
Iran has rebuffed Western appeals not to retaliate against Israel for the execution of Hamas leadership leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran late last month. "Such demands lack political logic, are entirely contrary to the principles and rules of international law, and represent an excessive request," Iran's foreign ministry spokeswoman, Nasser Kanani, stated. According to the official IRNA news agency, President Masoud Pezeshkian said in a late Monday phone conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer that the West's silence on "unprecedented inhumane crime" in Gaza and Israeli attacks elsewhere in the Middle East was "irresponsible" and encouraged Israel to jeopardise regional and global security.
Harris tells Gaza pro-Palestine protesters ‘now is time for ceasefire’
US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris has told pro-Palestine protestors who disrupted her campaign rally in Arizona that it is time for a truce in Israel's war on Gaza. As Harris spoke to an estimated 15,000 people in Glendale, Arizona, one of the states she is aiming for to beat her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, demonstrators chanted, "Free, free Palestine." On Friday, Harris paused her speech to address the demonstrators directly, saying, "I have been clear: now is the time to reach ceasefirere and complete the hostage deal."
