- Liverpool’s Pursuit of Roméo Lavia Continues
- Southampton Stands Firm on £50 Million Valuation
- Salah’s Commitment to Liverpool Amid Saudi Interest
Liverpool is expected to make a fourth bid for Roméo Lavia after Southampton rejected their £45 million third offer.
The Championship club is determined to demand £50 million for the Belgian midfielder, who is 19 years old. Liverpool also Chelsea want Lavia to rebuild their midfield after Jordan Henderson and Fabinho moved for Saudi Arabia.
Lavia, who Southampton paid Manchester City an initial £10.5 million to acquire last summer, was on the Saints’ substitute for their opening-day victory against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday.
Mohamed Salah’s representative says he’s committed to Liverpool and won’t join Saudi Arabia next.
According to rumours over the weekend, Al-Ittihad are willing to offer the 31-year-old forward a €180m (£141m) two-year deal. Al-Ittihad, who recently paid £40 million to acquire Fabinho from Liverpool, would also be willing to tempt the club with a proposal of approximately £52 million.
Ramy Abbas Issa, Salah’s agent, has ruled out the possibility of Liverpool’s top striker joining former teammates Henderson, Fabinho, Robert Firmino, and Sadio Mané in Saudi Arabia this summer.
“If we had considered leaving LFC this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer,” he tweeted. Mohammed remains loyal to LFC.
Salah signed a three-year contract with Liverpool last summer, becoming him the club’s highest-paid player.
Jürgen Klopp’s midfield rebuilding has been slowed by the Saudi Pro League, prompting Liverpool to seek a defensive midfielder.
