Yaya Touré’s agent during his time with Manchester City, Dimitri Seluk, has denied receiving a secret payment from the club. This is said to be one of the Premier League’s complaints against the champions.
On Monday, the Premier League stated that an independent commission will evaluate the fees. From 2010 to 2018, Touré played for City and won three league titles, the FA Cup, and two League Cups.
Seluk, who no longer works for Touré, a Tottenham youth coach, whether City offered him any covert payments when he represented the player at the club. “No, everything was clear; there was nothing on the rear,” he replied.
“I am curious to see what transpires because this is unexpected. Yaya paid everything, including tax. It was all straightforward.”
If contacted, Seluk would gladly speak with the impartial commission. ‘Of sure,’ he responded. I would say the same thing.
City has denied any wrongdoing and stated that it welcomes “the assessment of this case by an independent panel to objectively evaluate the enormous amount of indisputable evidence in favor of its stance.”
The league typically provides clubs 14 days to answer to charges, but due to the magnitude of charges against City, they may be granted further time.
