Preston striker Milutin Osmajic has received an eight-match ban and a £15,000 fine for biting Blackburn defender Owen Beck.

The incident occurred during a Sky Bet Championship match between the two Lancashire clubs at Deepdale on September 22, which resulted in a goalless draw.

Blackburn manager John Eustace stated in his post-match press conference that “(Beck’s) got a massive bite mark on the back of his neck.

“He has shown all the lads. He’s a little shy and shaken up.”

A Football Association representative announced the sanctions on Friday: “The forward admitted that he committed an act of violent conduct by biting an opponent in the 87th minute.

“Its written reasons will be published in due course.”

Beck, a Welsh international on loan from Liverpool, was sent off for kicking out at Duane Holmes late in the game.

The two players could face off again this month, as Osmajic has been nominated to Montenegro’s Nations League team for a match against Wales on October 14.
