Preston striker Milutin Osmajic has received an eight-match ban and a £15,000 fine for biting Blackburn defender Owen Beck.
The incident occurred during a Sky Bet Championship match between the two Lancashire clubs at Deepdale on September 22, which resulted in a goalless draw.
Blackburn manager John Eustace stated in his post-match press conference that “(Beck’s) got a massive bite mark on the back of his neck.
“He has shown all the lads. He’s a little shy and shaken up.”
A Football Association representative announced the sanctions on Friday: “The forward admitted that he committed an act of violent conduct by biting an opponent in the 87th minute.
