Danny Care will make his first England debut in four years after being picked among the replacements for Sunday’s non-cap international against the Barbarians at Twickenham in a team captained by Tom Curry.

Care’s 84th and final cap was earned in 2018, but he has fought his way back into Eddie Jones’ plans with his electrifying play for Harlequins in the last two seasons. The 35-year-old will provide bench support for starting scrum-half Harry Randall, who has also been named vice-captain.

Randall will partner Marcus Smith at halfback, while Jonny May, who missed the Six Nations due to knee surgery, returns to the left flank. Joe Cokanasiga is present in the No. 14 shirt for his first appearance since last year’s matches against the United States and Canada, stationed outside a center combination of Mark Atkinson and Joe Marchant.

Jonny Hill missed the Six Nations due to a foot injury, but he is now back in the second row with Curry, Sam Underhill, and Alex Dombrandt, who make a formidable back row.
