After Al Nassr’s 1-0 loss to Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, a furious Cristiano Ronaldo charged out of the tunnel while kicking water bottles out of the way.
The loss marked the second consecutive match in which the 38-year-old Ronaldo failed to score, as Al Ittihad’s custodian Marcelo Grohe blocked a fierce shot from the Portugal international in stoppage time.
Al Ittihad’s victory was secured with ten minutes remaining by a goal from Romarinho, allowing the team to surpass Al Nassr into first place. The Al Ittihad supporters taunted Ronaldo throughout the match by repeatedly chanting Lionel Messi’s name.
Ronaldo, who has scored eight goals in seven league games, removed his captain’s armband before exiting the field and appeared to hurl it before regaining his composure. Before leaving, he applauded the Al Nassr supporters.
“Disappointed with the outcome, but we remain committed to our season and upcoming games,” he tweeted. “We appreciate your support, Al Nassr fans; we know we can count on you!”
