South Korean officials report that The Squid Game actor O Yeong-su has been charged with sexual misconduct.
According to prosecutors, the 78-year-old is suspected of inappropriately touching a woman in 2017.
The woman initially filed a complaint in December 2021, but the matter was dismissed without charges being filed in April.
The case is being reopened “at the victim’s request,” according to the Yonhap news agency.
Mr. O has disputed the accusation, according to local media.
He has been charged but not detained, according to Yonhap.
As a result of the accusation, Seoul’s cultural ministry has ceased broadcasting a government advertisement featuring him.
