People are becoming aware of the significance of the yellow triangle on the iPhone, which aims to prevent irreparable damage to the device.

Apple may display two triangles in a pop-up on your iPhone. Both depict a yellow triangle that encloses a blue water droplet.

The heading of the first pop-up will read, ‘Charging Not Available.’

This will appear when the iPhone is connected to a charger and liquid is detected.

If you connect something other than a charger, such as wired headphones, you will see the message, ‘Liquid Detected In Lightning Connector.’

The iPhone manufacturer stated that both messages recommend disconnecting the cable and allowing it to dry, which could take “several hours.”

It is possible to disregard the warning, but only in extreme circumstances.

Apple cautioned, “If you charge your iPhone while the Lightning port is wet, the pins on the Lightning port or the cable may corrode and cause permanent damage or stop working, resulting in connectivity issues for your iPhone or accessory.”

Apple advises tapping the iPhone gently against your hand with the Lightning connector facing down to encourage any liquid to escape.

After drying in a ventilated place, wait at least 30 minutes before charging the iPhone again.

Although tempting, do not insert cotton swabs or paper towels into the connector.

Apple advised against placing the iPhone in rice as a solution for liquid-related issues.

According to the company, this is a myth, as “small grains of rice [could] damage your iPhone.”
