  2. Introducing ‘Screen Share’: A New Feature to Enhance Communication
  3. Continual Innovation: Meta’s Efforts to Differentiate WhatsApp with New Features

In recent years, WhatsApp has implemented several enhancements to the user experience.

Users can now respond to messages, create custom stickers, lock private chats, and modify their messages.

Moreover, additional updates are forthcoming. The new ‘Screen Share’ feature allows your WhatsApp contacts to see everything on your smartphone’s display.

Last week, the company announced a major update, but it’s not as terrifying as it sounds.

The introduction of ‘Screen Share’ is merely intended to allow users to share snippets of websites they’re perusing, documents they’re viewing, or even how to access features on an app or device.

Numerous applications, such as Google Meet, Microsoft Meet, Zoom, and Apple’s FaceTime, already offer the fundamental video conferencing feature.

In a press release, Meta elaborated on the update as follows: ‘Whether sharing documents for work, browsing photos with family, planning a vacation or shopping online with friends, or simply providing tech support to grandparents, screen sharing allows you to share a live view of your screen during a call.’

Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Meta, announced the new update on social media and shared a photo of himself on a WhatsApp group call in which someone was sharing their screen.

As soon as it is handed out in the coming weeks, users will see a ‘Share icon’ in the application, and when they tap it, they will be given the option to share a specific application or their entire screen.

Before you begin sharing your screen, be sure to hide any information you don’t want others to see, even if it sounds beneficial.

Meta added that users could make landscape video calls from their mobile devices for a more practical viewing experience.

WhatsApp debuted video calling in 2016 and has added features to differentiate itself from other chat apps.

Just last month, Meta announced that users would be able to directly send 60-second video messages into conversations.

The app explained, “Voice messages on WhatsApp have revolutionized the way people communicate by providing a quick and secure way to share your voice.” We’re thrilled to add new instant video messages to this feature. You can now record and share brief personal videos directly within the chat.
