  • Jeremy Hunt: UK must “absolutely” fear Islamic State after Moscow
  • UK’s threat level “substantial,” intelligence agencies thwart numerous plots

Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K) has issued a statement claiming accountability for the concert hall massacre, which resulted in the deaths of over 130 individuals.

In the wake of the terrorist attack in Moscow, Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has cautioned that the United Kingdom should “absolutely” be concerned about the threat posed by Islamic State.

As many as 133 individuals perished in the Friday massacre in the capital of Russia.

Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K), a subsidiary of the central Asian militant organisation, has issued a statement claiming accountability.

Mr Hunt responded “absolutely” when asked whether the remainder of Europe, including the United Kingdom, should be “concerned” about the events of Friday. He stated this on Sunday Morning With Trevor Phillips.

He further stated, “Our nation is extremely fortunate to possess intelligence agencies of the highest calibre, which have effectively thwarted and prevented a multitude of terrorist threats in recent years.”

But we must maintain vigilance; if it is the Islamic State, for instance, they are completely ruthless in their actions and willing to commit the most heinous acts of slaughter.

Mr Hunt responded that the determination of whether the threat level for the United Kingdom should be increased was the purview of a “special system” within the government and that he was not informed of their deliberations.

“I am certain they will be examining this type of incident,” Mr. Hunt stated. “They will also be analysing the intelligence gathered by our intelligence agencies, MI5 and MI6, as well as GCHQ.”

Furthermore, I would assert that although we must maintain a state of constant vigilance, they have remarkably succeeded in thwarting numerous schemes, the majority of which remained largely undisclosed to the public.

The United Kingdom is presently facing a “substantial” threat level, which ranks third-highest on the Security Service’s (MI5) scale.

The following are the levels:

  • Low—an attack occurs with exceedingly low probability
  • Moderate—while an attack remains improbable
  • Substantial—when an attack is imminent
  • Severe—when an attack is imminent
  • Critical—when an attack is imminent and extremely probable

After Russia asserted that Ukraine might have been involved in the Friday attacks, Mr Hunt was questioned as to the extent to which the public should accept these claims.

He stated, “I believe our confidence in anything the Russian government says is extremely low.”

It is widely acknowledged that they are constructing a propaganda cloak in order to justify a disgusting invasion of Ukraine.

Furthermore, he advised that he interpreted the statements of the Russian government with a critical eye.
