As Rishi Sunak tries to form his new team of cabinet ministers, Jacob Rees-Mogg resigns as business secretary.
Close allies of the departing prime minister, including her chief whip Wendy Morton and work and pensions secretary Chloe Smith, are also leaving.
Brandon Lewis, the Secretary of Justice, and Robert Buckland, the Secretary of Wales, are also departing the government.
Jake Berry has also revealed he is no longer the chairman of the Conservative Party.
Vicky Ford has announced her departure from the Foreign Office, where she served as development minister.
Mr. Rees-Mogg, who supported the leadership of Ms. Truss, is also a close supporter of the ex-prime minister, Boris Johnson.
He admitted that he was unlikely to be retained because he was “much too close to Liz Truss” to work with Mr. Sunak.
He stated that he would “totally support” the incoming prime minister.
He warned that the Conservatives, who are on their third leader in seven weeks, would be “burnt toast” if they did not unite.
Earlier, Mr. Sunak cautioned that his new administration has “tough decisions” as it confronts a “deep economic catastrophe.”
He stated that he was chosen as Tory leader to “correct” the “mistakes” committed by Ms. Truss, who resigned after only 49 days in office.
