A boat capsized in northwest Pakistan, killing ten young children.
The incident occurred in the Tanda Dam lake in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to local police official Qismat Khan, there were 25 students on the boat.
The pupils from a religious school in the province’s northwest were picnicking by the lake.
The ages of the 10 drowning victims ranged from 11 to 13, and nine more are still missing.
Three of the six individuals rescued are in critical condition.
According to the official, a previous party of 16 pupils was able to cross the lake. On the second trip, however, the identical boat capsized while carrying 25 people.

The provincial capital of Peshawar dispatched divers, and locals assisted officials in collecting bodies from the sea.
The disaster occurred on the same day when a bus plunged into a ravine in southern Pakistan, killing over forty individuals.
