A 36-year-old man from Harlow, Essex, has been charged with both solicitation and incitement to commit homicide and kidnapping.

A male, aged 36, has been indicted in connection with an alleged scheme to abduct and kill television host Holly Willoughby.

At Potters Field, Harlow, 36-year-old Gavin Plumb has been charged with both solicitation and incitement to murder and abduction.

He allegedly assembled kidnapping and restraining tools and encouraged someone to fly to the UK.

The suspect was remanded in custody after appearing before the Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Friday.

“The safeguarding of any victim is paramount and we will continue to prioritise this and working with the Metropolitan Police Service as the investigation proceeds.”

The Sun reports that This Morning executives were informed of the alleged scheme on Thursday morning. And the presenter reportedly withdrew from the programme just prior to her scheduled appearance.

ITV is “shocked” and offering Willoughby its support.

Willoughby is additionally receiving round-the-clock security and support from ITV in conjunction with the police.

A spokesperson for ITV stated, “Everyone at This Morning and ITV is in complete disbelief at this news.” We are offering Holly and her family every ounce of assistance we can during this profoundly trying period.”

“We are not going to talk too much about it, but Holly is on the front pages after police arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with an alleged kidnapping plot,” Dermot O’Leary said on This Morning this morning. “Esham Police have now filed charges against him.”

Alison Hammond, a co-host, stated, “It goes without saying that we are all devastated by the news, and we want to extend our deepest condolences and warmest hugs to Holly and her family.”

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak stated on This Morning on Friday that he “sends his best” to Willoughby.

“I just want to say I was so sorry to hear about everything going on with Holly, just wanted to send my best,” he reiterated.
