After a fourteen-year tenure on the daytime programme, Holly Willoughby, the host, has bid farewell to This Morning. She expressed her gratitude to the program’s audience and staff in an Instagram post announcing her departure.
In her Instagram announcement, Holly Willoughby informed ITV that she would not return to This Morning, marking the end of her 14-year run on the daytime show. She expressed deep gratitude to all who contributed to the program over the years, her colleagues at ITV, and the numerous guests who graced the show’s sofa.
Willoughby also extended her heartfelt thanks to the loyal and devoted audience, whom she described as dependable and uplifting companions throughout her time on the show.
In a touching Instagram post, co-host Alison Hammond expressed her sadness at Holly’s departure, and Dermot O’Leary, the show’s host, conveyed his admiration and respect for her. Vanessa Feltz shared her fond farewell message, saying, “My dearest, we will miss you terribly.”

Holly Willoughby, who had been absent from This Morning since last Thursday, faced an unsettling situation when a 36-year-old man was accused of conspiring to abduct and harm her.
ITV also released a statement, expressing their respect for Holly’s decision to leave This Morning, recognizing her as one of the UK’s most admired and accomplished broadcasters. They praised her for infusing the show with her unique blend of friendliness, vitality, wit, and enjoyment, which endeared her to viewers and participants alike.
Managing Director of Media and Entertainment Kevin Lygo expressed grief about Holly’s leaving but stressed that she remained a treasured ITV employee. He looked forward to working with her.
Holly Willoughby also joined the program in 2009, co-hosting with Phillip Schofield, who resigned in May of the current year after revealing a relationship with a subordinate colleague. An external investigation is currently underway to understand the circumstances surrounding Schofield’s departure. As he and his ex-lover repeatedly denied allegations of a relationship before his resignation and formal apology.
